World coffee exports grow 3.5% to 65.4 million bags in 20/21 crop to date

World exports totaled 11.94 million bags in March, according to the ICO. The exported volume is 2.4% higher than in the same month of 2020, when it reached 11.66 million bags. Highlight on Colombian milds, which grew 15% in the period, totaling 1.23 million bags. Brazilian arabica naturals fell 5.8%, totaling shipments of 3.33 million bags.

In the 20/21 business season, which started in October and reached its sixth month in March, global shipments amounted to 65.4 million bags to date, up 3.5% from 63.2 million bags shipped in the same period of the previous business year. Brazilian naturals stand out, with 23.66 million bags (accounting for 36% of the world’s total). The volume shipped by Brazil is 19% higher than in the same period of the previous cycle. The negative point is on Central American countries (other milds), which accumulate shipments of 10.40 million bags, down 8.3% from 11.35 million bags shipped in the same period of the previous season.
